Bosnia and Herzegovina with just over 50,000 square kilometers is a bridge between east and west. It is an only country where one can find an Ottoman Mosque, a Jewish Synagogue and Catholic and Orthodox churches on the same street corner. You will, no doubt, be fascinated by the harmony that existed between the followers of these religions.
RELIGIOUS TOURISM
Medjugorje is a village in southern parts of country and cca 30 km from Mostar. The village is known for the rapports of appearances of Virgin Mary (or Our Lady of Medjugorje) and that story is well known to most Catholics. In June 1981 six teenagers were playing together in the hills between the villages of Medugorje and Bijakovici.
WINTER TOURISM
The country lost its reputation as an excellent ski destination during the war-torn period between 1992 and 1995. FISHING AND HOUNTING TOURISM
This is a country where you can fish or if you are not willing to throw a fish-hook, you can try some of the exceptionally prepared fishes in one of many restaurants on some of the restaurants nearby Bosnian rivers.
HEALTH AND SPA TOURISM
From time immemorial there has been a tradition in Bosnia and Herzegovina of healing by way of curative thermal waters. First known spa was build by Romans in Ilidza and was then known as Aqua Sulphurae. Ilidza is today a suburb of Sarajevo.
